Howsabout the Sephardic/Ashkenazi divide? Last I heard, the Sephardics were getting the lowest place in the Israeli pecking order, barely (if at all) above Arabs.

And to make matters worse; where the Ashkenazi have been in Europe for centuries and essentially become Europeans, the Sephardics have lived among Arabs and become suspiciously Arabic in their ways and language. Where the right-wingers are concerned, the Sephardics may as well [i]be[/] Arabs. Spooky, innit?
