Learning Swedish in 3 months

Hi, I'm going to Sweden for 3 months on a student exchange.  I'm a native English speaker.  How possible would it be to learn Swedish during this time abroad immersed in the language?

I've heard of Fika, but not fredagsmys.  According to google "Fredagsmys is an event where family and friends gathered on Friday evening after the completion of work week and celebrate the weekend with peaceful coexistence".

I arrive in Sweden during November, and stay for the winter, so that should be interesting because I come from a warmer climate (Australia).
