Anyone ever used Rosetta Stone to learn a language?

I don't really get how it works. It seems to just throw random stuff at you and then you pretty much guess. Is there an actual method or what?

You're supposed to notice grammatical patterns in the examples they give you.

That being said, it still sucks horse dick.

English is my native language. I tried to use RS to learn Japanese and quickly got bored because I felt like it was throwing crap at me randomly.

That said, I think that as a supplement to learning a language it could be quite beneficial. Using it exclusively to learn a language might prove difficult.. or for me it did.

Rosetta stone just put phrases or words but never explains it, then is ok for learn for example spanish if you are a native english speaker because there are not much difference between those two lenguages.

But if you are a native english speaker and a fucking weeaboo you will fail if you try to learn japanese with rosetta stone because english and japanese have nothing in common.
