Vowel Replacement Therapy: Take the word you want to learn. Replace the vovels so that it sounds like a word you already know. Now relate the word you know with the one you don't.
The Spanish word "aduana" means "customs house"
aduana => aidouano => ai do ua no => I don' wan' know => I don't want to know
When you carry a mysterious package through a customs house, "I don't want to know" is a very good thing to hear. It means you won't get arrested.
I usually avoid replacing consonants because in my mind this makes the connection weaker, but it might work for some people.
