Pimsleur

Hey, I'm here to know ask if any one has tried learning a foreign language using the Pimsleur program before. For those who have, how was it? was it helpful? because as far as I know it relies solely on audio; as while I've always figured associating words with objects helps to learn languages easier.

ooh, I finally listened to the first lesson, and while I understood how to say the phrases itgave me, it didn't give me what I wanted. I want to learn the language, not survive as a successful tourist. I need a program that deals in the written portion too, like you'd get from a high school course :s
