Bad reasons to learn languages

Japanese: "I like anime and jrpgs!"
Chinese: "China is going to be a superpower!"
Dutch/Swedish: "Their society is so progressive!"

Is learning a dialect(Scottish) for your girlfriend a bad reason? I don't have to, but it sounds pretty sweet anyway.
