I'll be learning Dutch as my third foreign language come fall. I'd like to be somewhat prepared for it, so I'm asking for tips on what to learn first, preferably online.
If there are any folks out there who already speak English and German (as I do), how difficult is Dutch? From what I gathered so far, much of the vocabulary seems to be easily recognisable. Are there any problems for English and German speakers that I should be careful of? (false friends with German/English, etc.)

Learning Dutch, if you know English and German, will be like moving to Liberia from England. The languages are practically the same.

Dude, have you actually HEARD Liberian English? That accent's unintelligible!

>>2 is right, Dutch is like English with the syllables mixed up a little. It's closer to English than it is to German. You probably won't have any trouble with it.
