Stupidest Language

Name: Anonymous 2009-05-17 7:11

I vote Georgian. 17 letter words without vowels and a shitload of verb and noun cases. also a retarded alphabet that looks like Arabic turned upside down or elvish or some shit. Impractical piece of shit

Name: Anonymous 2009-05-17 12:27

And this my dear, is what a troll looks like. In before, a shitstrom with over hundreds of replies.

Name: Anonymous 2009-05-17 16:19

I vote English. 20 letter words without vowels and fucking absence of anything like verb and noun cases. also a retarded alphabet that looks like Greek turned upside down or cyrillic or some shit. Impractical piece of shit.

Name: Anonymous 2009-05-17 17:12

The stupidest language would be the one with the smallest vocabulary. Probably some mud-people's tribe language.

Are you kidding me? The Georgian script looks beautiful. I'd learn Georgian just to be able to start at those pretty letters.

i Learnt Georgian as a kid. The alphabet is nice but it takes too long to write anything. Some of the letters have needlessly intricate detail and some of the letters look very similar. Personally i don't think the script fits how the languages is structured either. They should have stuck with Latin imo.

My favorite Georgian letter is ლ.

Wow, that's quite inefficient. Anyways, good thing there are computers and typewriters now - Georgia will probably get them in the next decade.

Can't you take this argument to /newpol/? This board is about languages not politics. Besides, people complain about Stormfront crap being on there yet don't post about stuff like this over there.

Name: Anonymous 2009-05-21 2:15

But language influences how people, nations,... act. When the Nazis had conquered almost every non-fascist European country, gave up on the Battle for Britain, and put 6 million men on the border with the Soviet Union, all Stalin did was go "Hurr wat is antikominternpact? idunnolol. Nazis are our friends. Let's kill some more officers!". That's because he was raised in Georgian.

Name: Anonymous 2009-05-21 10:09

That's because it's full of stormfronters. Do you expect an intelligent political discussion in a place infested with them?

Anyways, the faggots should shut up here regardless as there is no real issue to discuss, only a matter of knowledge.

I vote German, Russian.
In fact let's say that all languages with grammatical genders are not needed are stupid by design.

Examples:
In German: das Fraulein - neuter. Girl is motherfucking neuter. When I first heard it I was like "Really‽ Are you kidding me, nazi?"

In Russian - картошка is feminine, but картофель is masculine. And they both mean the same exact fucking thing - potato.

And Esperanto sucks too while we are at it:
For example, patro means "father", patrino "mother", and gepatroj "parents", but gepatroj cannot be used in the singular *gepatro for "parent". For these gendered words there is no easy way to make the singular neuter equivalent.

Name: Anonymous 2010-08-23 5:36

картошка and картофель are absolutely logical. In Russian you don't need to remember what gender the word is, you can just look at the word's ending and see its gender. Oh, by the way, картофель  is a straight borrowing and картошка is the russianized version.

Name: Anonymous 2010-08-23 9:56

>картошка and картофель are absolutely logical.

and the logic is? Russian language does not have masculine морковь(carrot) or feminine ананас(pineapple). Though one can rape language to get ананасина, there is no reason to do this.

>you can just look at the word's ending and see its gender.

Except sometimes(quite often actually) you simply have no ending at all.
Well, officially it's called "zero ending", but it does not help:

лень - laziness - is feminine. But
олень - deer - is masculine.

отель/бретель/метель/свидетель/портфель/хмель/ель just to name 10 of them.
Or тюль.
Which is a strange one: officially it's masculine,
but some plebes treat it as if it was feminine noun.

Name: Anonymous 2010-08-24 21:35

Fraulein ist neuter fur wir nicht mit fraulein Geschlecht haben.

Name: Anonymous 2010-10-07 8:31

>>1
No "vowels" between them, but some languages allow syllables being centered in "consonants". Even English allow this - just see how an United-Statian pronounces "turtle" (trtl).

And I agree with >>6, Georgian script is beautiful...

>>3
English is nice, but English orthography is a REAL PAIN IN THE ASS.

>>7
Latin script doesn't suits well, nor Cyrillic... I think Georgian needs just improve its own script.

>>23
Most languages have genders... not only sexual (masc/fem/neuter) genders, but others too - like Dyirbal has a gender for women, another for dangerous things and one for fire-related things...

BTW, genders are nice to make new words from the older ones, see this example in Portuguese:
cachorro/cachorra [dog/bitch]
menino/menina [boy/girl]
dono/dona [owner-man/owner-woman]
doutor/doutora [medic-man/medic-woman]...

Most words are straightforward about this - if ends in R or O, it's masculine, if it ends in A, it's feminine.
The pain is that EVERY FUCKING WORD has a gender with no reason, like:
bolo [cake - masculine word]
bola [ball - feminine word]
água [water - feminine]
relógio [clock - masculine]

I'd agree with the vowel thing in most languages like Croatian where r can act like a vowel but Georgian still has retarded consonant combinations like Rdze. Also I find some Georgian agglutinations just fucking impractical. And there are times where the vowel sounds like its lost altogether when you say a whole sentence and not just a word by itself .

I'd vote Georgian to be the hardest language as opposed to stupidest. Only rivaled by Chechen and Ingush

Name: Peikko 2011-08-04 11:46

I'd give my vote for either English or Chinese. Both are kind of retarded languages.

English is easy to pick, but gradually becomes harder the more you try to learn it. It's very easy to misuse English. Other Latin based languages aren't much better. English is also ruining other languages and generally is the cancer which is killing the national cultures.

Finnish, Japanese and Hungarian are probably three best languages in the whole world. Not to mention Esperanto which is also pretty good language even if it is totally invented. It's hard to pick them up but once you get down few basics it is very easy to progress into a more advanced level. You can learn even really complex shit you cannot even describe properly with English.

This is my educated opinion.

It's a another matter when we start thinking about writing systems. I hate Chinese with a passion because of their retarded writing system. And I hate the fact that there are practically two really complex ways to write Chinese which changes depending the country you live in.

I know that Japanese writing system is partially based on Chinese but Japanese writing system adds lots of hints and they have a good standard set of things. Japanese were lazy people and tried to copy Koreans (in which they failed creating the current hybrid system). The current Japanese system is hard to understand but not impossible because they don't have 5000 years of backwards compatibility in the system like the Chinese have (in some cases). To write Chinese you have to know about 4000-6000 characters and rules how you make them up which there are around 50 (if I remember correctly). To write Japanese you need to know about half of that meaning 2000 something Chinese characters and around 30 rules on writing them.

Korean writing system is great and really flexible. Almost as flexible or as flexible as Latin alphabet.

Name: Anonymous 2011-08-13 6:30

>>34

yeah fuck Chinese. Also the Indian Script. Both of them are aesthetically pleasing but suck to learn. In fact the Chinese had to invent a new script to learn how to pronounce their main one.

a script should fit the structure of the language like Korean or Arabic, and not be a backwards system of moon-runes for each new word.

My vote is also for Chinese

Name: didhedied 2011-08-14 0:52

Mandarin from the 1600s.

Name: Anonymous 2011-08-16 16:07

I'd vote for Welsh as the most retarded.  Because of lention, half of the words in a sentence will be spelled differently than they are in the dictionary.

Scriptwise, I'd probably vote for Japanese with their 3 writing systems that vary based on the origin of the word.  Also, it doesn't work which is why McDonald's in Japan is spelled Mikadonaru or something like that.

Second place to Arabic for not writing vowels.

Name: Anonymous 2011-08-21 10:09

Arabic script works very well for the way the language is structured. Consonant roots and so on... I guess it would suck for a foreigner though.

you cn stll undrstnd ths oky rght?

Name: Anonymous 2011-08-21 16:41

Arabic doesn't write vowels for the very simple reason that it does not need to. The grammar fills in the vowels.

As far as I'm concerned, though, the main pain with Arabic is all those pharyngeals; د/ض ,ت/ص, etc.
Not to mention the ه/ح/خ trio. Really, why not just two?

Name: Anonymous 2011-08-21 17:28

Yeah georgian is beautiful! Even though it does seem very hard.

The stupidest has to be esperanto, I mean, a language is forged by history and time, and this one cunt shows up and goes lulz i'm gonna make up some shit.

I hate esperanto with a passion. It sounds like bad spanish, and written like Serbo-croatian.

The Universal language should be latin, even though I'm ok with english (kind of the symbiosis of celtic, germanic and latin words)
