How many words do you need

I have been learning Japanese for 2 years now, is it only me or does Japanese have/use more words than European languages such as German or English? I mean Japanese often has 3 or more words for things where English or German have only 1. Is that really so, or is that just my perception?

Japanese is a dad language, you should switch to latin.  Tons of people speak it.
