So i herd you enforce the no-loanwords policy in Icelandic, remove everything foreign, etc.
Does anyone really follow it in colloquial speech?
Or, by far, does anyone really use Icelandic in everyday life?

Not necessarily. Some words, like "bacon", "baby" and "cookies" retain their English spelling in Norwegian (there are also examples from other languages, like weekend (French) and baby-sitter (Italian). I suspect they'll eventually become properly assimilated like the Norwegian tøff (tough) and kul (cool), though.

My point is that in Icelandic, the words get an Icelandic spelling immediately. They have a comitee that makes these spellings.
