I bought some flashcards cheap a while back for about 20 dollars. Came with a 1,001 cards in it. I've used it for a while and realized flashcards aren't really my thing.

- A basic site that can help guide you in learning the four tones of Chinese.

- Skim this and then re-read it. It helps you figure the order in which you need to learn things.

- Nice, clear podcasts that can serve as a refresher/introduction for basic words.

- Good for basics and for learning how to write the characters.

- A step up from 3, with higher quality podcasts that come out regularly.

- Learn beyond the words and get a taste of the culture here.

- Site looks cheap as hell, but trust me- it's very useful. It helps you organzie you learning.
8.

- The last stop on the road. Eventually you'll need to practice your Chinese with other speakers. Use both Pinyin and the actual Characters to communicate with native speakers. And while you're at it, correct the mistakes of others.
