Learning German...

Name: Anonymous 2007-11-02 7:41

Where can I get free resources for learning German?
Particularly for pronunciation.

I'm failing so hard at that..

Also, whats the best way to learn? Flashcards? Music? I'm obviously not looking for anything that costs money like classes.

I, as a german, recognized that Mark Twain had a kind of love-hate relationship to the german language. He wrote a book about it "The awful german language" and translated within, as an example, the old german atrocity tale book called "The Struwwelpeter".
It's an bilingual edition (english&german).

The print is exhausted and could only be bought second hand:
http://www.amazon.com/schreckliche-Nachdichtung-Hoffmanns-StruwwelpeterThe-Language/dp/3933497418/ref=sr_11_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1215345294&sr=11-1
The same at the german stocks of amazon:
http://www.amazon.de/schreckliche-Nachdichtung-Hoffmanns-Struwwelpeter-Language/dp/3933497418/ref=sr_1_13?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1215344963&sr=8-13
But if you'd like to buy it you may try one of the german offers because they're much cheaper (Euro(€) 3.61 compared to $ 63.13).
