Petitioning for a German class at my school

I've already got about 5-10 signatures, and our Latin/English teacher is fluent in it. Is it worth it?

Latin more useful than German? Depends on what you're going to do. History? Relation to some languages? Sure Latin is great for that. But for actuall use in the real world of speaking and reading, writing and hearing, almost half of Europe speaks German!
