Aside from placement of adjectives, is Spanish the same as English in terms of sentence structure? And what about conjugation?

It's different, but not TOO different. If you're new to it, you can go a ways without having to learn anything mind-bending for an English speaker.
Like, Yo quiero Taco Bell. I want Taco Bell. Pretty straight foreward, order and conjugation-wise.
But then there are things like, Te odio, which means "I hate you"...'Te' sort of means 'you', and then odio is the "yo/I" conjugation for hate, and it's kinda wonky compared to English I suppose.
