Questions to people learning Japanese

1. Who are you? (Age, sex, location and everything else you are willing to tell us)
2. Why are you learning Japanese.

I'm asking this because I want to know if the people who are trying (notice the word 'trying') to learn Japanese are just a bunch of weeaboo faggots, or if they have a more sane reason to do so.

My grandparents were in a Japanese concentration camp during WOII. They it's possible that they knew some Japanese but I don't think they ever used it when they got out. Why did you grandparents learned Japanese to their children? Surely they didn't liked the Japanese a lot.
