Questions to people learning Japanese

1. Who are you? (Age, sex, location and everything else you are willing to tell us)
2. Why are you learning Japanese.

I'm asking this because I want to know if the people who are trying (notice the word 'trying') to learn Japanese are just a bunch of weeaboo faggots, or if they have a more sane reason to do so.

I'm a programmer, and as of late, I've been getting involved with game programming. Seeing as a large portion of the industry is Japan based, I figured it could expand my job market (should things go well for me). Complimenting this, I've always enjoyed learning language (whether it be improving my own, or attempting proficiency in another), and I've found Japanese to be quite interesting (likely due to the vast gap between its roots and that of germanic/latin-base languages). Some tell me this is unrealistic, but it's been working quite well for me so far.

Weeaboos just piss me off. I feel like strangling people when they tell me they're trying to learn "so they can read manga and watch anime before it's subbed"; or the like. Their 'trying' usually consists of parroting phrases from their favorite characters, which makes it all the more idiotic. Real people don't talk like anime characters anyway.
