This is the first post of  the Official 4chan Japanese club! We can help each other to learn Japanese! This is the first lesson! ^^

Some simple phrases:
Hello: Konichiwa
Goodbye: Sayonara
Please: Kudasai
Thankyou: Arigato
The: wa (except it is written 'ha' but pronounced 'wa')
Japan: Nihhon
Is: desu (this goes at the end of the sentence)
I: Watashi

Some example sentences:

Hello! I am (the) James!
Konichiwa! Watashi ha James desu!

Thank you, good bye!
Arigato, sayonara!

Japan please!
Nihhon kudasai!

I was just putting it as 'the' in the notes for the beginners in Japanese because it's a difficult word to explain how to use. Like 'ni' is in or 'de' is use. You can consider it the same as the english 'the' because it marks the object of the verb.
