I wonder what the meaning of 88 would be in Asia? Like in "88 Xintiandi hotel". I'm confused...

It's one those shapes like pyramids or pentagram(aka star).  Nazi form of swastika is actually inverted 45 degrees, but even that is originally hindu symbol, hence the nazi fascination with India which technically is homeland of real world Aryans.
