Spam and moderation at 4 chan

I know from the beginning of 4chan there was little to no moderation but back then this could also be said about spam. Now the amount of spam is rising like shit after diarhea, the report function is too slow to report all the spam on the front page, those 3rd world countries spaming fucks keep changing words so the filter can't get them.
Does anyone now what 4 chan staff is doing about it?

I asked ALT about the janitor application process from March of last year and he said that he didn't know what happened with that, so I guess that whole program fell apart. They should open that up again but limit it to like 25-500 applicants, and if that didn't work/not enough, just put up another global message.
