How does I Oekaki?

I can't get the Shipainter thingee to load on /i/.  I get "Loading Java applet failed" and there's a bunch of "class c.ShiPainter.class not found" messages in the console.  Do I have to install something to get it to work?

I asked on /i/, but they decided to not be helpful. >:(

Have you installed Java? If you have, is it the latest version?
