How do I input the invisible character? Google tells me ALT+255, but that's just space.

Just test ALT + 0173 in different fields. Experiment on /b/; threads don't last long there anyway.

^ Above there is a link to a screenshot of the Windows character map showing you how to "SINEP". (PENIS typed backwards, but it retains the wordfilter background color) Simply, you goto Start ---> run ---> and type "charmap" into the run box, (or if you're using Vista, Windows logo button ---> Search ---> type "charmap" into the field.) check "Advanced view", make sure the character set is selected as Unicode from the drop-down menu, type under "go to Unicode" field, "202E". Basically everything you did should look as in the screenshot above; hit select, hit copy, then paste onto the comment field, if everything worked, you should be able to type PENIS normally and it will come out as "SINEP", then after you post it should work with the wordfilter background color intact.

Note: this also works for "VAGINA" as "ANIGAV" and "BUTTSEX" as "XESTTUB".

Post info being backwards, (i.e. Name field and date/time/post count.) are a bit more complicated to perform, but work in the same vein.

I hate to bother you again, but the ALT+0173 isn't working. I am using vista, maybe it's a different keyboard shortcut? The sinep is working great though.

I'm not sure as I am using Windows XP and not Vista. But, what should happen is you HOLD down the alt key on your keyboard, type 0173 in the name field and let go of the alt key AFTER you are done typing 0173. Again, I have no trouble doing such on XP and I assume that Vista is not much different in doing the same.

It should, last time I tired it, it worked. I'm trying under /b/ right now with ALT + 0173 and it doesn't appear to be working. I used to just simply use that to bypass word filters, but when I try and type "PENIS" without it having a background color, it fails on me.

Either one of two things are happening:

1. I'm simply "doing it wrong" as they say, and I haven't screwed around with word filters and such for months.

or

2. The moderators of /b/ changed the board to disallow use of that special text character so people can't use it anymore to bypass filters.

What puzzles me is that I still see it done. So perhaps there is an alternative to using ALT + 0173 that I'm not aware of.
