So true. I made my first nigra after the "World Tour" and was there for 7-12, some SIX WEEKS before /b/-day and the birth of 7chan. For that matter, I learned of 7chan WHILE RAIDING HABBO. IIRC, my reaction was: "There's a 7chan now? Fuck that."
It was the due to influx of twelve-year-olds from gaia and ebaums, incurred largely BECAUSE OF the Habbo raids, that /b/ became so full of fail prior to /b/-day. They weren't satisfied with the occasional, well organized raid on Habbo or the like, and instead went off, half-cocked, after every photobook, and private forum in sight (remember the fiasco that was the Zelda forum raids?). The worst part was that they were BAD AT IT. After the repeated epic failures that were the Tom Green prank calls, /b/ became hardly worth reading: everywhere you looked it was JB (all reposts, mind you), petty, little raids, and posts asking about how to use proxies ("Google, motherfucker, do you use it?"). Thankfully, with the crackdown on raiding after the furocaust, many of them went to 7chan.
Thus, 7chan is populated almost entirely with people 4chan doesn't want back, while 4chan can now limit raiding to a manageable level.
In b4 tl;dr.
