Just wondering how people get words to appear in their tripcodes? Does anyone know of a web based programme that'll do this for me?

Type your name, then # pound sign and whatever you want. Anything after the # sign gets scrambled and shows up as a tripcode. This is a sure way of identifing yourself and avoids people from using your nickname and making it appear like you posted something that you hadn't.

Web based, NO. I don't think anyone wants to waste such huge amount of cpu cycles on you.
is the scrambled tripcode that is shown totally random? Or does it incorporate parts of your password?

it's not random, it is always the same if you type the same thing after the # in your name. so long as no one else knows what you type, it can be used to verify that you are you. but there are ways to find out your tripcode, so it's best to post as anonymous.

There is a program that will decrypt tripcodes. People use that to put words into theirs.

Tripcode programs are usually pretty basic. Ones written in low-level languages obviously work much faster, but you can do them in higher level languages like python too:
Oh by the way the longer the desired tripcode, the longer they take to decrypt. Three-letter gets are found almost instantly, whereas six-letter gets can take hours, and anything longer than that can take days.
