You're a good sort, and I agree with you.
Allow me if you will, to give you some of my life outlook here.
In modern society, children are raised to be "Tolerant" of other people. Tolerant of their sexuality, race, religion, and any other difference they might have from you or the norm. Tolerance seems to be the buzz word of the modern day. But what is tolerance really? To tolerate something means you have to "Put up with it" or "Cope with it"
For example:
I tolerate a rock in my shoe.
Obviously this is a term I have a problem with, but that raises the question: What IS the appropriate attitude? Acceptance?
Fuck no. Acceptance is the other extreme. Completely embracing something you may disagree with. This is why most prejudice folks fight so hard, they shouldn't HAVE to accept anything. And this point is a valid one.
What do I preach then?
Indifference.
The world would be a much better place if we just stopped giving a shit about issues that neither concern us, nor have anything to do with us. My friend is gay? I don't tolerate him. I don't accept him either. It's simply inconsequential to our friendship, and I don't really care.
