Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge being ported back the Xbox360 for the final crappy edition of the game.

Batman Arkham City Armored Edition 100% nothing new port to wii u.

Scribblenauts Unlimited being ported to PC.

FIFA 13 EA Couldn't be bothered to port the whole game to Wii u.

Mass Effect 3: Special Edition given to Straight Right to port to wii u, couldn't be assed to post in house, missing DLC content.

Metro: Last Light No port because they are going bankrupt, but said Wii U has slow CPU, we all know they had no money to port the game really.

Oh my, it seems nobody understands tech properly. Real talk guys, The speeds don't matter, because this system is perfectly set up for next gen. I know this because next gen games are going to be very heavily GPU dependant, whereas right now they are CPU dependant. You guys seem to always forget about the fact that Wii U has a GPGPU, which is a lot more important than you might realize. It is based on the Radeon HD 5670, but teardowns show that Nintendos modified version of this card is actually much beefier than the off the shelf 5670, but again, this card is also a GPGPU, which basically performs a lot of the functions of a CPU. What this means is games can be dependant on the GPGPU for processing power, which will result in much better looking games with better performance. The reason why games like Mass Effect 3 and Arkham City have performance issues on Wii U is because these are games that are CPU dependant. They are not utilizing the systems GPGPU the way it needs to be used, and therefore means the CPU is being overwhelmed, while the GPGPU underperforms. This in tern causes issues with the game. What this all circles down to is that Wii U is a next gen system, and it is set up for the inevitable GPGPU utilization in the future, because a GPGPU is becoming very important in game design now, and in the coming years, games will use them, and become lesser and lesser dependant on the CPU.

This all boils down to the fact that Wii U is not set up for current gen games, it's set up for next gen games. I believe that makes it a next gen console.

Clock speed is not that important. High-end CPUs can perform complex arithmetic in a single instruction cycle, a 500Mhz processor can be "faster" than a 900Mhz processor if the former does everything in 1 instruction step instead of 5. GPUs offload all of the floating point and graphics shit, making it even less relevant. Stop complaining.

I've also just had it pointed out to me that THE CPU HACKING, was done using the wii emulator mode, It could be the CPU downclocks in wii mode.

So, ports of current-gen games are shitty because the system is set up to play next-gen games. But next-gen ports will also be terrible because of how underpowered the console is. Maybe 5 years from now it will have a handful of good exclusives like the wii does, but I don't know if that's worth the price of entry. It definitely isn't worth it right now or in the near future.

>>6 Underpowered? The thing just came out, developers can crank more out of a system once they learn how to optimize what it has going for it. Look at the 360, compare the graphics of old games to newer ones and you'll see what I mean. Compare Halo 3 to Halo 4, compare Oblivion to Skyrim, compare Gears of War 1 to 3, shit I could go on all day... people get better at using the assets over time. Many of the ports didn't end up so good as many developers were unfmiliar of how to optimize the Wii U, and were porting games that had been optimized forba different setup, just give the console some time and you'll see how good it can be.

the emulated Wii mode of Wii U is now possible to run emulators of older systems, Wii U goes Inception.

The fact of the matter is that it is still underpowered. Sure, wii U games 4 years from now will look better than the ones released at launch, but that isn't saying much. The 720 and ps4 are going to blow it out of the water right out of the gate, and the wii u will never catch up. It's the wii 1 all over again, except this time nintendo can't rely on the same gigantic casual audience to keep it alive like it did before.
