So I've been playing this totally awesome game for a while, and figured I'd pop in and share. It's called "Ankhet" and it's based on Egyptian mythology. It's sort of a callback to old BBS games like Pyroto Mountain. The thing is almost entirely text-based. Despite having a quest progression, constant item game and all the normal moves you see around the net, the game is really the forums, which are directly integrated into the main game. Faction Politics, and controlling the flow of the game /is/ the game at the core.
Ruthless political maneuvering occurs in a world where every player is a forum moderator and the PvP is insanely complete, you can demolish other players that oppose your faction -- up to and including the deletion of another player's account. Some people just want to watch the world burn, y'know? There's also trivia. A lot of trivia. You can progress based on answering trivia alone, if you really want.
Of course it's 100% free, has been from day one and that wont ever change, like all good things in life. There aren't any ads, which seems to be damn hard to find these days.
Anyway, figured some of you might be looking for a slightly more intellectual bent to it. I've been hooked for a long ass time, once you get in, there's nothing like it.
