Hey,
Yesterday we had a fun thread where we discussed the lack of games based on real world history. I promised to talk to my coder (I'm a graphic / animator dude) with some of the Ideas /v/ had and I got the opportunity to pitch it to him yesterday evening.
He says we should do it, and I agree. A simple RPG using CryEngine set in Constantinople just after the Ottoman invasion.
We went on to book a flight to Istanbul over Christmas, since we think that is a realistic timeframe to get the groundwork done.
Based on /v/s input we decided to describe the story of a single individual, a Christian son of a perfumer who gets drafter into the Janissary. Depending on how well our resource management goes, the story will get bigger or smaller - At this point we aren't so much concerned with the story than with the basics of the game code.
At this point, every suggestion you want to make for this game, no matter how ludicrous can go into the "Ideas" Box for the game. So yeah, got anything?
