Dualshock 3 or x360 pad. Both work with PC and seriously, there is no point in looking for anything else.
Personally i prefer DS3 because its glorious for emulators.
PS3 and xbox360 controllers are complete shit.
Use a logitech dual action and never have to deal with weird proprietary settings and connection interfaces, as well as a more concise pad design in general.
