Old school games?

I need some ideas for some old school games. Games like Arena/Daggerfall, the original Legend of Zelda, etc. Any ideas? I really need to play more of the classics.

Give Zelda II a shot, it's a true test of manhood.

What kinds of games do you like, or are you looking to try?  Also what era?

If you like Zelda, off the top of my head I would reccomend Beyond Oasis, Crusader of Centy and Landstalker on Genesis.  Legend of Oasis is great if you can find a working Saturn emulator (or even harder a working Saturn).  On Snes, Illusion of Gaia, Secret of Mana (as well as Sieken Densetsu 3) and Secret of Evermore are all worth checking out.

Alundra on PS1 was also quite good.  And if you're interested, Okami on PS2 was one of the best Zelda style games ever in my opinion.

There aren't many other games like Daggerfall in terms of it's scope, but you may want to check out Balder's Gate, Ultima and Planescape Torment.

Without more info those are my suggestions so far.

Thanks for the suggestions! I'm looking mostly for any sort of action/RPG. I'm mainly hoping for PC games so I don't have to worry about owning the right console. The only old console I still have access to is a Super Nintendo, unless I install an emulator on my phone.

Well I mostly mentioned 16 bit era games which are really easily emulated on a PC.  There are torrents with emulators and full game libraries since old roms are so small.  It's really easy.   I suggest starting with 16 bit Genesis/SNES there is a tonn of awesome stuff to play, and with every game right there you can try out lots of stuff.

I would say try out Secret of Mana first, and then Beyond Oasis.  Or the other way, both are fantastic games with great combat and some cool puzzles especially in Beyond Oasis.

If you want PC games, I'm not really into those, but Planescape Torment is highly regarded.  And there's always Diablo 1 & 2, clickclickclickclickclickclick
