My name is David Davidson. I am a survivor living in 4chan BBS City. I am broadcasting on all AM frequencies. I will be at the Games Board everyday at mid-day, when the sun is highest in the sky. If you are out there... if anyone is out there... I can provide food, I can provide shelter, I can provide security. If there's anybody out there... anybody... please. You are not alone.
There's a long road of suffering ahead of you. But don't lose courage. Muster your jimmies, and don't lose heart. We shall all see the day of liberation. Have faith in life. Above all else, have faith. Drive out despair, and you will keep death away from yourselves. Bans are not for eternity. And now, a prayer - or rather, a piece of advice: let there be comradeship among you. We are all /v/irgins, and we are all suffering the same fate. The same smoke floats over all our heads. Help one another. It is the only way to survive.

I dunno, but seeing threads from 2004, with intelligent discussion that wasn't just using the quote function for bulletpoints fills me with such sadness. Anyone who says that time was "just as bad" is full of shit.

Of course they're full of shit. They just come over from /b/ after seeing that "/b/ was never good" picture that floats around and they think the same applies to /v/. /v/ has been getting progressively worse for years.
I, for one, am enjoying the shit out of the civil war that's going on right now. It's nice to see people getting so butthurt about getting banned for the retarded shit they post. Hopefully the mods don't get tired and give up like they always do.

So what do we do?
Hide on /games/?
Endure it and go on /v/?
Escape to /vg/?
Or run away from videogame boards in general?

It isn't so bad here, underneath it all. Sure, it might take hours for people to respond to a post, but it isn't any worse than a popular forum. Especially, when you think about it... We have all the comforts of a forum without the mod cocksucking.

Depends on what you want? There's some good threads on /vg/, a lot of the more popular video games threads have moved over there so I'm sure there's something there to interest you. /v/ is fine as long as you don't post pizza, feel threads and whatnot. The mods have been cracking down on off-topic and they don't seem to be getting tired, which I, at least, am personally thankful for. /games/ is alright too. It's much slower but not being able to post images filters out a lot of the retards that post on the image boards.
I personally browse all three, along with /sp/ when I want some pretty funny off-topic stuff. I usually find something funny on /sp/ even though I know nothing about sports and have no interest in them.

The whole fun of 4chan for me was the fact that you could have an online discussion with people with interesting views, not correspondence by mail. It's not quite the same without the insane speed >>56
Yeah,/v/ has been purged of the off-topic threads,so it looks like its good now./vg/ is good if you're really involved in a game, but if you're not,you don't really have anything to do there
Ah well,i guess this board is a backup if shit hits the fan on the other boards or /b/ enters.
I doubt they would have the brains to come here

True, but have you seen the speed of /vg/? That's what /games/ ''would'' have had if Moot hadn't decided to make /vg/ and instead enforced existing rules. Of course, then he'd ''also'' have to enforce it for /anime/, and god forbid he have to do a little bit of extra work.

Where is that from? I can hear it with it's voice in my head, but I just can't remember where that is from, such mindfucked feeling.

I see 2 possibilities if moot had enforced
Possibility 1:
They come and make /games/ full of general discussions
Possibility 2:
They just stay on /v/ and generals are never openly announced
/games/ will never be busy while staying itself

If they just had an extreme crackdown in moderation like they did for the first few days between /v/ and /vg/, we would have been fine.
>>63
Now they have mods on /vg/,just retarded mods who actually enforce the no nsfw pics rule.Despite the fact that they had encoded savedata and were spoilered.
Moot needs to put a lot more effort into choosing his mods

I like how video game discussion is expected to abide by dumb rules that no one asks real art discussion to abide by

It's weird because it was only people on the AA thread that got banned. Not sure why the mod decided to single us out when there was porn all over the other threads.
I don't even know what we're allowed to post on /v/ anymore. For the past few days mods have been really strict about keeping off-topic threads out, and today there's pizza, dubs, piccolo dick, and a jimmies sticky.

It is all just confusing, isn't it? God, I hope this all just blows over soon. I don't mind lurking, but I do enjoy having conversations without the threat of being banned looming over my head.
