If you guys like VN's you should love Dragon Age II. Hamburger Helpers favorite games are VN's because it's all dialogue and romance and there's some sweet Yaoi ones out there. No combat, no tricky corridors to navigate. Just straight up story.

It is by definition and every Japanese otaku would agree, but what most people in the West probably think about, when they hear that for the first time, is something with stats (I think TrueLove95 was of that kind, but frankly said I don't remember).
VN is everything where you basically read a 'novel' with backgrounds, characters, music, and so on.
A 'dating sim' going by definition is a video game in which you live through a relationship with one or more partners from a range of "options". It might be a VN, but any kind of video game can be a dating sim.
