I think it's good. At first I thought it was a bit short but then once i beat the game i realized there's an equal amount of challenge worlds once you beat the game, kinda how you only really needed about 60 stars in mario galaxy to beat it, but you could go for the full 120 if you wanted.
I feel like the gameplay itself is a merging of mario 64, mario galaxy, and mario 3 and the 3D effect adds enough depth to make you kinda queasy at times if you're weird with heights like I am and doing crazy downward jumps.
Mario's gravity could use a little bit of work though, sometimes I feel like he's too vertical heavy, like the same mistakes a lot of the newer sonic games suffer from, but I do like that mario isn't as slippery footed as he was in galaxy and 64, that shit used to drive me crazy sliding too much.
Overall I like it and I think they did a great job on level design this time around. It almost feels like Mario Galaxy 2.5 between the stage select system and variety of levels.
