I've been shitting my dick for 11 hours straight playing Final Fantasy 1. I am head over asscheeks this game isn't worth the time I'm spending in it

What JRPGs do you recommend that actually have a well developed story and characters? Not some plot written on the back of the box this NES cartridge came in and a bunch of guys telling me to go to the cave down yonder and back and forth fighting with random enemy encounters every two steps

Seriously, Dragon Quarter is a fucking masterpiece. Sure, it was a deviation from the usual Breath of Fire games but man, instead of just being a good colourful JRPG it instead became the Deus Ex of JRPGs (in my opinion anyway, faggots will still dislike it either for being Japanese or for being too hard and restrictive.)
