PSX cd burning

Name: Anonymous 2011-08-21 10:14

I have a PS1 disk which is faulty at a certain part in the game. Fortunately I have a flip top ps2 which allows me swap game disks on the fly.

I was wondering if any modders/piratefags knew if it would be possible to burn a working copy of the game on to a CD and then swap it after inserting the original game cd.

What game is it? How about just playing it on an emulator on the PC? Also I'm no expert but I think you have to have your playstation chipped, to bypass the protection and hence play burned games, the way you describe.

I know how you do it.

the easy way is to just download an iso of the game burn it to a colored disk, you know the ones that are black or red or blue on the bottom, your ps1 will like that better then the other ones.

burn it at the slowest speed your burner will allow.

use something to hold down the little button that gets pressed down at the back right of the playstation when the drive is opened.(just use paper or some shit isn't rocket science)

it will take you a few times to get this right.

put in your real game, boot up playstation around the time where the screen switches from one logo to the next the cd drive will slow down from spinning really fast, pull the game off it will spin then stop, spin then stop, spin, then stop, you'll get about 3-4 chances of that spin stop action before it crashes, just time it right and when it stops put the backup on and let it finish booting.

another way is to use a hardware mod

the last way i know of is to use the expansion slot with a "game enhancer"

the game shark stuff probably doesn't work you want some off market generic i forget the name of the one i have but you do basically the same thing.

pop in legit disk, use paper or whatever to keep drive open and button pressed, then plug in "game enhancer" boot system

wait till the disk stops spinning switch for backup and load game

simple as that.
