REM3D is the worst idea ever.

Btw it's "Resident Evil Mercenaries 3D" for those who think typing "REM" is referencing that stupid rock band's name.

You take some shitty mode from a shitty game, turn it INTO a game, then sell it for 40 smacks.  You include more pointless unlockables like costumes which is actually worse implementation than FFX-2 (they don't represent character classes at least and are strictly fan service), levels are cookie cutter, Rebecca Chambers is yet another annoying whiny game teenager, and worst of all Gamecube quality graphics look EXACTLY like RE4.

Good thing I don't actually own this game.  The same frat guy who got his far too long waiting and beyond shitty update on 3DS got REM3D.  Looks to me he likes stupid games where you shoot random enemies to get to the end of each fucking level, PLUS it's online????  Why would you WANT to play this game with anyone else??  Not my idea of a good time.

There IS this demo for Revelations but I hated the series to begin with.  Go figure. >:

To be fair, in RE5's mercenaries mode, the different costumes meant different item sets for the character. I'm guessing it's the same in 3D.

I heard Ubisoft is trying out a new form of copy protection with REM3D: you won't be able to erase your saved game. All unlocks stay unlocked forever. This could potentially develop into some really evil shit in future DRM schemes.

Capcom really shot themselves in the foot on this one.  I can understand that they want to discourage users from purchasing used games, but this move goes to the point where they are going to hurt their own sales as people simply skip over the game because of this.  This also means one playthrough and one playthrough only, which is dumb.  Theyre going to lose more on this idea than if they hadnt implemented it.

It's just shameless they pulled it off.  I mean everything.  I don't want to have some asshole play through every level I've beaten in my un-eraseable save file and troll about it on the internet (even if you can't sell at Gamestop if you own a frathouse he can easily borrow when you're not looking).  Plus RE in general controls like your character stepped in shit and can't wash it off. >:
