Gaming sure was good in the old days

Name: Anonymous 2011-04-19 15:23

Every console game was a platformer, beat'm up or jrpg.
Even if you had a whopping 4MB of RAM you still had to create a boot floppy because DOS could only use a couple 100 KB of memory.
Overpriced consoles.
Buggy games that required patches.
Nobody in your class or family had internet so you had to buy overpriced gaming magazines to get patches.
Nobody in your class or family had internet so you had to buy unofficial internet-collection expansion packs to get mods/maps.
Games randomly interrupted by copy protection, forcing you to search for specific phrases in the game manual.
Every 2D game looked like it was drawn in DOS Paint.
Just when 2D games started getting good graphics they started making 3D games which required you to upgrade to an expensive 3D card so many games ended up having shitty polygons and, if you were lucky, very low-res textures.
320x200 is not a high resolution, 640x480 is.

Sure, resolution matters a lot when you're playing push-a-button-to-watch-more movies.
