Anyone here maintain a Virtual Boy collection?
Mine is pretty much my most prized possession, I love it that much.
What is the favourite item in your collection?
For me it has to be a copy of Innsmouth no Yakata, the only first person shooter for the console AND based on the works of an author I enjoy reading? Yes please.
I'll not go into how much it cost me though.. The rare ones always are a bit of a pain.
Anyway, share with us!

I don't have any but it interests me greatly. Is it true there's an original Mario or Wario platformer for it?
I suppose the 3DS is a kind of continuation of it.

It is true that there is a Wario platformer for the Virtual Boy.
It's in the style the original gameboy Warioland except it has 3D influences like jumping into the background of stages and enemies that can move closer or further from the viewer.
It's a very fun game and really hard to get 100% on thanks to all the hidden treasures there are to find. One of my most played Virtual boy games.
Another good thing about is the fact that it is easy to get hold of, probably as the first game in your collection, it's not a rare game as many of them were made so compared to some other Virtual Boy games it's pretty cheap most of the time.
I am excited about the 3DS myself, Nintendo's return to 3D will no doubt be great fun. The Virtual boy was a failure not because it was bad, technically it was pretty much level with the Snes for graphics and sound capability, It was the high release cost and monochromatic display which put many people off and made it flop. A terrible shame, the device had so much potential and if it had become popular then portable gaming would have almost certainly developed down a separate avenue than it did.
Interestingly enough though, the 3D effect produced by the Virtual boy is BETTER than the 3D of the 3DS, simply because of the method used to cause the effect, Not that most people would ever care of course and it's certainly not going to pu me off buying one.
