ping

anyone have a trick or sumthin to lower their ping?
mine is assreaming terrible. i'm on a high-speed connection, but it's wireless. and no, i'm not sapping. it's my connection.
I tested it on pingtest.net, and the lowest i got was 1000 or so. i've tried manual DNS server pinging, didn't help much.
any ideas, /games/?
P.S.:i'm on a laptop.

Mistake #1: Using wireless. Wireless is slower thanusing a wired connection, simple as that. The game will lag when your connection is being re-negotiated with your wireless router, no way around this. Use an ethernet cable if you are playing a game that requires low ping times and a constant consistent connection.
Then use fucking google to look up guides on doing tweaks to impro ve your connections.
