With great power comes great irresponsibility
For the serious players and natural born leaders out there, being assigned the title of “raid leader” by your peers is usually a deserved honour. However in The Battle for Lake Wintergrasp, Blizzard assigns the raid leader on a “first come, first served” basis, meaning whoever gets in first is supposed to guide the entire group of up to 100 people.
I can think of only one occasion over recent years when someone used the Raid Warning device to deliver a message to every computer screen involved in the Wintergrasp Battle. Blizzard intended the Raid Warning device to be used, which is why I always sneak into Wintergrasp early to get command of the Raid Warning device.
I give out these warnings because people need a bright orange message flashing across their screen without warning to keep them focused during an intense battle. They also need to hear the loud, off-key horn sound booming from their speakers whenever I put a message up.
