lost and damned question.

Ok I don't have live because I don't like to play online. So I decided to buy lost and damned in the store instead of marketplace. I take my hard drive to a friends and it works. So we sign off of live and it still works. I bring my hard drive home, put it in the 360, and lost and damned doesn't seem to be showing up. I fucking hate dlc for this reason. The only reason I could see them selling the shit in stores, is for the people that don't have live, so they can enjoy a great dlc without having to be signed in to live. If they would have done like the oblivion dlc and put it on a disk it would have solved most of these problems. Has anyone had this problem? Or can you give any advice? Any help is much apprechiated.
