Unusual BF2 Problems On Vista

bf2 complete collection is not working on vista. does anyone have any idea what the hell i should do? ive been able to run it. No patches no game additions. but those make the game fun. also this is a laptop so since it doesnt think its completely installed daemon tools wont work. any solutions?
