Fallout 3

So I was playing Fallout 3 and I found the hospital and took the fallen tower path to the statesmen hotel. So I go up and up and up and I finally reach a door to the restaurant. When I enter it the game crashes! The same thing happens with the elevator. How the fuck do I fix this? Is it common?

It's the PC version. I exited the hotel and went on my own business, meanwhile I woke Riley up, and she sent me to the hotel to save her rangers. Well I tried going to the restaurant again and the same shit happens.

pc version sucks...
except that the PC gamers can use G.E.C.K. :(
i play the PS3 version and i never had any problems with laggs or freezes.
my friends FO3 froze around 5 times already on his console.
he has a 80GB and i have a 40GB, i dont know if that is the reason...
both or our games are in a new shape because we got it at the same time.
one thing i realized is that the game halts when a person on PSN signs in or when i get a PSN message. it basically always halts when i get that pop-up in the upper-right corner.
