WAD Manager

How am I supposed to install WAD Manager? Neither the readme nor the page on GBATemp says anything on how to do that. Do I just have to use the Twilight Hack? And if so, am I going to have to rename WAD Manager's .dol file to boot.dol?

Er...you know what, never mind. I read up on it again and it seems you DO have to rename whatever homebrew you want to install with the Twilight Hack to "boot.elf" or "boot.dol", depending on its type. I thought that was only the case for installing the Homebrew Channel, but I guess it applies to any homebrew which is distributed as an .elf or .dol file.

I guess if needed, this could become a Wii homebrew tips thread.

You install the Homebrew channel, and then you copy and paste the WAD Manager folder to an SD card in the sdroot:/apps/ directory

I already tried that, and it didn't work. Also, when I bothered to use the Twilight Hack to try and install WAD Manager, it seems to just run the program rather than install it anywhere. It also wasn't able to install the two WADs I copied onto the card. It detected them and let me try to install, but every time it gives me "ERROR! (ret = -2011)". In case it matters I was trying to copy over the NTSC versions of Strong Bad Episode 3, and the Contra 3 virtual console WAD.

I just tried installing Sin and Punishment last night and it gave me the exact same error code. Perhaps it has to do with the new Wii update?

Yeah, read the main page of the Wiibrew site. If your Wii is fully updated, then you can't install anything using homebrew.

ownd. i'm stll on 2.9(check that later) and i have no need to actually update. all the stuff nintendo puts out is just refurbished stuff. junk at most. just get the channel "WII Backup Loader" shit is the most handy thing I have ever seen. it blows wanikio(sp?)'s out of the waterr.
