Nintendo DS help

I tried going to nintendo's website for hlep but they kept giving me a run around, sign this, sign that, verify this...FUCK IT TO HECK!!!!

So I figured I'd come here instead.

For some reason my DS won't work, I turn the power on, the green light turns on fine, but both screens remain black. It also doesn't chime or anything like it normally does when you turn it on.

If the screens were broken then shouldn't the backlight come on still?

How do I fix this? or should i just get a new one (damn I don't have fucking $130!)

It sounds broken to me. I'd replace it through warranty or buy a new one if I was really desperate.
