Well, since the movie era started, people wanted to be the lead role. When video games came out, it was only a matter of time until people started making movies into games. Despite the failure of it, people still wanted it. So, the games of E.T., Indiana Jones, Rocky, Superman, Batman, and other such popular characters in popular media started becoming present.

In our current era of games, generic anime has become successful so companies try to cheat things out by experimenting new engines with the use of popular characters so some level of prophet can be made. Sadly to say, many great concepts become overlooked due to the associated anime. Some want to play as fav anime characters so it doesn't matter to the bigwigs of the industry.

I have played a fair number of anime based games and I can honestly say that they all have some level of experimentation in their design. If Dragonball GT continued on or went into another series, we probably will have another DbGT instead of Naruto. Soon enough, there will be a hoard of Bleach games as well and there will be a "Bleach Sux" bandwagon. It always happens.

Just to say, the only Anime based games I ever played that was any good, surprisingly, is Yugioh Falsebound Kingdom(an Ogre Battle like RPG) and one of the Narutos (both gamecube games). If you can tolerate the anime humpfest, you can find a great engine in those two. Others involve rehashed nonsense and broken or dull engines.

Jump Superstars, Jump Ultimate Stars (DS)
DBZ: Budokai 3 (PS2), Budokai Tenkaichi 2 (PS2, Wii)
Bleach: Heat the Soul 3 (PSP)

all i can think of off the top of my head, haven't played any Naruto games so can't comment on those.

the naruto games are just like DBZ:Budokai, and bleach, except better. How about you play the game first before you judge.

If you don't like naruto, go back to watching your shitty underground anime. Honestly, Nobody fucking cares what you think. everyone will still like naruto, they will still make episodes, they will still m ake games. Don't like it, dont watch it, and Stfu.

Also, he isnt 12 years old anymore. In naruto shippuden he is 15 . You know, this isnt some super realistic ninja anime, where he has to be dressed in fully black or camouflage. Too bad Naruto is one of the top popular animes in japan, aswell as america.
