Agreed.

Though, Soul Calibur 3 was a bit unbalanced with fireballs and bombs being thrown.  Any of the Soul Calibur 2's are worth the money.

Also try Guilty Gear (StreetFighter style, wacky weapons with normal weapons), Plasma Sword, Mace: the Dark Ages (poor graphics, but fun against others), Samurai Showdown (KoF anyone), and Way of the Warrior (more of a one strike/kill deal on this one).  I may be getting the title of the last one mixed up with another.

Fightings fun with friends. i like GG, Soul Calibur is a little slow, i like fast things(not always, i also like DOA3 on XBOX)

Many welcomes.

Though, you said you want something like DMC3 or God of War.  The only one I can recommend is Oni Musha and Castlevania: Curse of Darkness.  I know some will disagree about Curse of Darkness, but I have to say that it has alot of good to it despite the overly simple controls and lack of platforming.  The hidden areas and whatnot are very well placed, imho.

Others are cop outs of some way or another.  For example, Nanobreaker.  It attempts to be bloody, have a complex yet simple combo engine, and platforming elements.  However, the enemies are simplistic and everything boils down to alot of button mashing.

meh I don't mind the fireballs and bombs, they do the same damage as other weak attacks and you can just sidestep them. I love SC3 because it maintains the great mechanics of Soul Calibur (which allow both button mashers and more skilled people to play together), it has beautiful graphics and sound and fixes a couple of the SC2 flaws such as the juggling contest.

I get out of juggling easy, though it does become one big mind game.  Plus, me and my friends all went against button mashers and crushed them no problem.  Button mashers often tend to make themselves vulnerable to many different attacks.  Repeated Vertical strikes, sidestep and counter.  Repeated Horizontal strikes, hit with vertical strike and follow up with a throw or combo.  I can go on.

He is talking about melee sword action, not gun each other and occasionally stab someone with an energy blade.
