I'm kind of confused here, is Circuit City's $499 PS3 deal a one-week-only type of deal, or is it from now on?

$500 seems like an ok deal, but I'd never spend that much on a console. In a year it's going to be $400 and will have some good games, then I'm going to slowly consider it.

Well its permanent as long as the 60 gigs PS3 last. It's just that they are not making any more 60gigs PS3. So when the stores run out of all the 60gigs PS3, it's back to 600 bucks for the new 80gig PS3. A $100 buck for an extra 20 gigs. LOL, god the ppl that buy PS3 are dumb as shit,.....or just have shit load more money then me.
anyway, the 60GB deal is far better in my opinion, you'll end up changing the hard disk later anyway and that's why it's even explained in the manual. the emotion engine is worth much more than the extra 20GB. for example the 80GB version utilizing software emulation can not play FFXII or MGS3.
And that pile of gaming phailure is still $910 here.
