SRWOGS

so, i just got SRWOGS and my brother kicked it down while it was in the Japanese ps2 and now some animations are taking along time to load up (the mecha and such come onto the battle screen, then sit for like a minute before saying anything) and some mecha just freeze the game(music keeps playing, background keeps moving, but the pilot portrait and face never appear/say anything/move, just locks up) and my game now has two huge scratches in it. does this sound like something a dvd repair thing could fix, or am i fucked and do i have to rebuy it?
