Of all the things that were good during the 06-07 blitz this was one of the best times for us. He really needs to make a thread summarizing successful adoption and her ascent to being 9 1/2 now and her personality growth.

Speaking as someone who just stumbled upon this story despite being a on/off /b/tard for several years, I must say that it is one of the most touching and wonderful stories that I have ever read. I, no joke, was hooked on it, couldn't put it down like a good book, which says a lot considering I haven't picked up and truly read a book in years.
I pray that this story is true, because the fact that it likely is makes it that much better. I'll be honest, parts of it drew tears. I'm such a gigantic faggot, I know.
At this point, I suppose I'll at least be checking ED and other sources for updates every so often. It's nearing mid-2010 now, so I can't expect much, but one can always hope. I'm sure you two have much more important things to accomplish in life than updates to the interbutts.
Also, maybe someday I'll get a DS, and get Pokeymans and post my code. And if Ampu-chan still plays, maybe I'll play against her and get my ass handed to me in short order. That would make my day.

Consider he might not have been completely truthful. He admitted outright in one that he added something in that wasn't true, in all likelihood to cover up his whereabouts. Consider that a "plot hole" may have been to throw the jr-detectives and wiseguys off. You know?

Having just finished reading the saga on ED, I must say: I LOVED Nurse-kun's story but I have severe doubts, as much as I hate to admit it. Nurse-kun writes a touching story, and I (like so many others) feel like I have invested a lot in little Ampuchan... But my eyebrows would raise every time he mentioned how perfect and amazing she is. So I ran her through a Mary Sue test and got a score of 76 (For the record, 22-29 means Mary Sue tendencies. 30+ is a Mary Sue. 36+ is an irreparable Mary Sue. A score of 50+ means "kill it dead").
Did anyone else find it odd that a seven year old child is gifted in just about every way a person can be gifted? Not only did she go to a school for gifted kids, but she was supposedly an athlete, a gymnast, played the guitar, shamisen (how many 7 year olds even know what that is?), violin and piano, all well enough to supposedly win awards for them. Oh, and she can sing too. She is half-Japanese (appealing to the weeaboo/loli-chaser in Anon) yet green eyed and blonde-haired, and got the best of both worlds/won the genetic lottery in her looks. She also has an amazing memory, good enough to memorise her family history in explicit detail going back three or four generations. She dislikes "child talk" and knows who Samus Aran is, and is supposedly "better" at maths and video games than her 20-something year old nurse. She listens to classical music. Am I the only one who, seeing all that Mary Sue-ishness posted in one place, has doubts as to the authenticity of the story?
Add to that the fact that no record of any such car accident has been found, especially in Washington D.C., where some people believe the story is set.
Of course it is possible that the story is true, and Nurse-kun played up the special factor of Amputan to increase the pity of the audience. As said, I have doubts, though I really do hope the story is a true one. If it is, I wish Nurse-kun and Amputan all the best.
