Well, I can't remember where I saw it but apparently Anonymous found a serious vehicle accident reporting site with details of injuries, which narrowed down possible ampu-tan candidates to just a few. Assuming that's the case and that he was telling the truth (I'm pretty sure he was), it's probable he backed out due to fear of /b/ getting too close. That's probably for the best, much as it sucks for us.
